Deputy Chief Wayne Jasper, Anarchist Mountain Fire Department
Once a Firefighter , Always a Firefighter - Since 2014, Deputy Chief Wayne Jasper has been delivering informative presentations on most aspects of Firefighter Mental Health and Well-being ranging from basic awareness about PTSD to developing preventive measures, Traumatic Incident Response Tracking & Building Resilience.
Wayne has 34 years in the fire service, 30 as a career firefighter from which her retired and then returned to volunteer service. Currently Wayne Serves as Deputy Chief / Training Officer with the Anarchist Mountain Fire Department in British Columbia. He has also served 10 years as an Auxiliary Constable with the RCMP (retired) and 13 years with the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation where he has served as LODD Committee Chairman He also serves as the BC Assistant Director for the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association
Wayne has spoke on PTSD awareness and prevention at major conferences including The Fire Chiefs’ Association of British Columbia Expo & Education Summit, Alberta Fire Chiefs Association Conference, Maritime Fire Chiefs Association Annual Conference , and PTSD/OSI Awareness conferences as well as numerous local events across Canada
